TurboSFV v10.02 - Multiple file arguments (changes) |
Notes to TurboSFV v10.02:
In the last version v10.01, the option was added to pass more than one file argument to the command-line "Create". This was needed for the case, that a set of files couldn't be specified otherwise, for example by using file masks, specific
folders or filter. In the created checksum file, file names were then added along with their full path information, so that they could be located during the next validation. Thus, the /f switch, which handles full or relative path
information, was ignored in this
case.
In this new version, we re-enabled the functionality of the /f switch, if used with multiple file arguments. At first look, this doesn't make sense, because if the path information is gone, then the files can't be found, if they have
different locations. However, use cases are not limited to the validation of checksums. Thus, we have decided to leave it up to the user, whether or not full path information should be used or - in other words: Why to limit a user, when it's not
really
needed?
Thanks to a customer for flagging this!
