TurboSFV v10.01 - Multiple file arguments for command-line |
Notes to TurboSFV v10.01:
Along with quite some smaller fixes and improvements, affecting the appearance and the functionality of TurboSFV, such as color adjustments, arrows for the sorted column in a list view or error handling, the command-line version "Create"
now accepts more than one input argument for the file specification, which identifies the files from which to calculate
checksums.
In the past, only one file argument could be passed to the program, which could be a specific file or a directory, with or without wildcards, in order to specify a set of files. Furthermore, filter for file names, extensions or even
attributes could be used to further limit the number of files. However, in some situations, the set of files couldn't be specified exactly: This problem is solved now, as you can specify more than one file
arguments.
In case of multiple file arguments, it's recommended to use fully qualified file names (with drive letter and path) and to enclose them in quotes, so that the program can find the files, not depending on the current directory. Wildcards
are still possible, even with multiple file arguments, and filter can also be used. Note that according to the documentation for older operating systems, there is a limit of 8191 characters, which can be used for the command-line
string.
From the identified set of files, checksums will be calculated and saved in one checksum file. Also the checksum file should be specified with a fully qualified file name, by using the /n switch, so that the program knows the save
location. This checksum file can be later on used for the validation of all specified
files.
