TurboSFV v9.61 - Validation file list |
Notes to TurboSFV v9.61:
In this version, focus was put on the file list displayed in the main program for the validation of file checksums.
The file list consists of various columns, for example file size, checksum or validation status. These columns can be sorted and the way they are sorted was improved, so that the list not only looks better (column checksum considers along
with the hash value itself also the number of characters used for the checksum), but also is sorted faster - important for huge lists.
The list can be sorted by clicking on one of the column headers. If entries have the same value, then you can now specify, which column to use next for a further comparison. For example, if you sort the list by file size, the list can be
further sorted by checksum to see, which files with the same size have a different checksum. To do so, sort the list first by checksum and then by
size.
Furthermore, you can now use a font with a fixed character width for the display of the file list. The font can be selected in the configuration on the interface tab, where a list of fixed width fonts, which are installed in the operating
system, is offered. For columns like file size or checksum, examining the values can be easier, if they are displayed with the same character
width.

Please add support for xxhash3-64 and xxhash3-128. It is faster and more resistant to collisions than xxhash32 and xxhash64. https://github.com/Cyan4973/xxHash

Hello, Mathias,
xxhash3 is still not properly documented, thus we can't implement it.
We have to be patient...

Hi all,
I was wondering if the setting "blake3 CPU count" also applies for validating files on a USB drive. I have the value set to 8.
I have a Samsung T7 with about 700 MB/s read speed according to TurboSFV. Validation is limited by CPU load (as only one core is used and maxing out at 100%).
If I run validation for files located on the internal SSD I can also see multiple CPUs being used. Here limitation comes from I/O performance.

Hello Quarter81,
in TurboSFV, there is no dependency between blake3 CPU count and drive type - so you should get the offered number of CPUs.
Have you tried with CPU count=2, which should already exceed the maximum speed of your drive?
