TurboSFV v9.52 - Merge checksum files |
Notes to TurboSFV v9.52:
In this new version, you can create a new checksum file based on existing checksum files: TurboSFV let you merge several checksum files to a new all-in-one checksum file by using the export functionality.
In previous versions, TurboSFV only accepted one hash file as the input, now there is no limit in principal, as long as the same hash algorithm and the same path type is used. If the path type relative is used, then the hash files must be
located in the same
folder.
Useful for example, if you have a huge collection of files and you want to add some new files. You don't have to calculate all checksums again to generate a new checksum file which includes checksums for the new files, but you simply merge
the existing big checksum file with the new smaller
ones.
Of course, the new checksum file includes statistics about how many files were validated and not. If needed, this information can be added for each file. In addition, it includes a list of hash files, which documents, where the checksums
came
from.
Big thanks to a customer for this nice idea. Feel free to add a comment regarding this new version here.

How do request new features? Back in the 80's a friend created a SFv checker called NVCRC which had options to delete failed files and option to create files that are missing with an extension of file1.missing, file2.missing, etc. Also it
would create a file with the % # of files completed. I can send screenshots if needed.
TIA

Hello kubbie,
basically, TurboSFV does not delete user data, so deleting files is not option. However, renaming a failed file to file1.failed could be an option.
You can use the normal support e-mail address for providing further information.
