TurboSFV v9.10 - Search for new files with file extension filter
Notes to TurboSFV v9.10:

The command-line tool "Validate" can be switched to an analysis mode, which also allows to search for new files, which are not listed in the checksum file. For this mode, the known file filters (attributes and extensions) are now available, so that the search can be limited. This can be useful, if you have created a checksum file by using file filters, and you want to search for new files by using the same filters.

These filters are now also available in TurboSFV XE, where you can setup an analysis job, to be running in the background and looking for new files. If the job finds a new file, then you now can see a new message in column "Last Result" of the job in the job list: "Pay attention to results", which indicates, that the analysis job has something to report, where you should have a look at. Same message appears, if there were validation errors during the last validation, the availability check failed or while searching for new files, access to a folder was denied.

You could now navigate to the service log folder, open the appropriate service log file and have a look for the analysis results. This step was simplified in the new version: Simply right click on the job, to open its context menu and select "Details: Last Run". This opens the appropriate service log file and scrolls down to the entry, which provides details for the last job execution. Of course, you will need read access to the log file.

Another nice new feature in XE is, that there is a new lockdown folder, where you can put your checksum files in a safe manner. By default, this folder is protected in a way, that administrators have full access and the service application can modify, so that unauthorized users or processes can't change the checksum file (and the hash values within). This feature is an offer, not a must - you can still use a different folder.

If you want to leave a comment regarding the new version, then this is the right place.
