TurboSFV v7.50 - Hash file analysis: Search for new files |
Notes to TurboSFV v7.50:
Up to now, you could easily detect changed and missed files by validating a hash file. But one feature wasn't available: The possibility to search for new files which arrived in the meanwhile. In this new version, you can now scan for new
files and get a complete
picture.
TurboSFV walks the folder tree, and for all files it detects, it looks into the hash file whether the file was already there or not. If it's a new file, it tags the file as new and calculates a checksum. To be able to handle a huge list of
files, a special search routine was developed, which is fast enough to look even on entire
drives.
New filters make it easy to group validation results, for example to group changed, missed or new files. These customized views can be exported to files for documentation or for a deeper check of files in question at a later time.
If you are in touch with folder monitoring, you may also like the possibility to create an updated hash file, reflecting all accepted changes and which you can use for the validation the next time.
This and all other changes in the light of extended analysis capabilities: TurboSFV isn't just a hash application, it becomes more and more a forensic tool.
