| TurboSFV v6.60 - Keep track of validation results |
Notes to TurboSFV v6.60:
The changes in v6.60 were focused on how TurboSFV keeps track of validations. In particular, what needs to be changed to improve the user experience.
In the past, TurboSFV didn't distinguish between partial and full validations: If all files are validated (succeeded or failed), then we have a full validation. If a validation is canceled or some files are skipped (because "Skip
previously checked files" is switched on), then we have a partial validation. The results of canceled validations were not saved at all and other partial validations were treated as full
validations.
In TurboSFV v6.60, more details of a validation are saved. The benefits for the user are:
- Canceled validations can be continued without validating previously checked files.
- Display of more detailed validation results in the Shell property page Content for a hash file.
- The infotip now shows the date of the last full and successful validation.
- Purging old validation results is now based on the date of the last full validation, partial validations don't count.
- The option to re-validate all files is now always enabled.
In order to achieve this, some changes to the internal database had to be done, with consequences for validation results from older versions of TurboSFV:
- Validations from previous versions of TurboSFV are treated as partial, because there is no information whether a validation was partial or full.
- Previous results from older versions of TurboSFV can't be found at all, if the option "Allow different location" in the configuration is switched on.
