TurboSFV v5.50 - Command-line switch for recursive file search |
Notes to TurboSFV v5.50:
Along with other changes, there are two new features which I want to focus on:
1. /i switch for the command-line version: create
By specifying this switch, also sub folders will be scanned for files, hash values will be calculated and stored in one hash file. For example, the command
tsfvcmdc /a:7 *.txt /i
calculates SHA-512 hash values for all txt files in the current directory, including all sub folders. In previous versions, the command-line tool did not support sub folders and you had to use a batch file for walking the folder tree. In
addition, you had to create one hash file for each folder instead of a summary hash
file.
2. Mobile Edition (ME) now with command-line versions.
The installation of the Mobile Edition (ME) now includes the command-line versions (create and validate, both in 32-bit and 64-bit), so that you have a hash tool available, even if there is only a console window. If you run the
command-line versions as a part of the Mobile Edition, you must always specify the new /m switch, which indicates, that you are working in a portable environment - otherwise you will get an error
message.
The Mobile Edition is a part of the Commercial Edition (CE), and not included in Private Edition (PE).
