TurboSFV v5.40 - Creation mode: One checksum file per file |
Notes to TurboSFV v5.40:
A new functionality allows to create single hash files. Single hash files contain only one hash value for a specific file, while summary hash files contain hash values for a set of files. In earlier versions, TurboSFV only supported
summary hash files. The main purpose for using single hash files is, that one specific file can be validated, without checking other files and that can save time in case of large
files.
Single hash files can be created single-wise, for all files in a folder or even recursively, which includes sub folders. They will be stored in the same folder where the file is located and named based on the name of the file. Thus
read-write access is needed to that folder. In the configuration, there is an option to exclude hash files from hashing while creating single hash
files.
A new menu entry with a check mark in the shell context menu as well as in the TurboSFV main menu allows to switch between recursive on and off: While creating hash files, a selected folder will be scanned for files in sub folders, if
switched on. Else sub folders are excluded. In earlier versions of TurboSFV, sub folders were always
included.
To be in line with new menu layout, the two menu entries for search and validate have been changed to one entry for the search itself and another with a check mark, to turn the recursive search on and off.
